A family man, beset by debts, decides to take advantage of a unique and unforeseeable circumstance to disappear. After many years of living away from his country under a false identity, a chance discovery puts to the test the irresistible temptation of wanting to know how the life of his family has continued in his absence.

The question becomes an obsession: can one disappear and forget a whole life, can one start from scratch and never look back?
